Frequently Asked Questions
For vein removal: You may require between 3 to 6 treatments, 8 to 10 weeks apart, depending on the severity of your condition. The treatment diminishes or completely eliminates the appearance of existing vessels. Red facial veins frequently disappear after only one treatment.
For hair removal: Laser treatments impair the growth capacity of hair follicles when they are in the active growth phase. Not all follicles are active at the same time, so several treatments (done every few weeks) may be necessary to obtain the desired results. Most patients require one or two touchup treatments per year.
For age spots, sun spots or Rosacea: Usually, from 4 to 6 treatments, 4 to 6 weeks apart.
For enhanced skin rejuvenation: Between 3 to 8 treatments, depending on your skin type and condition.
For vein and hair treatments: Treatment feels like a mild pinprick. However, the laser can be adjusted to your tolerance level. A topical anesthetic is usually recommended prior to each treatment.
For all other applications: Anesthetic is usually not necessary. A cool gel is applied to the skin during the laser treatments and the chilled window of the laser is then placed over the area to be treated. With some laser treatments, no gel or cooling is required. The patient experiences a pulse of heat followed by a puff of cool air.
You will probably experience some temporary redness and swelling. There is no downtime with laser treatment, but we recommend limited exposure to the sun for a week following your treatment. For pigmented lesions, you can expect initial darkening and eventual crusting of each spot, followed by lightening in a few days.
