Hamp Pratt, MD
Walk-In Center of Wallingford
Dr. Pratt has practiced medicine for over 30 years. He has been an active physician at the MidState Medical Group Walk-In Center since 2001. Prior to seeing patients at the Walk-In Center, Dr. Pratt provided care for routine and complex general surgery problems at CBS Surgical Group for over 25 years. Dr. Pratt also served as Chief of Staff and Chief of Surgery at Meriden-Wallingford Hospital throughout the 1980s.
Dr. Pratt received his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine and completed postgraduate training at Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals, LSU Surgical Service Charity Hospital, and Cancer Traineeship at Lahey Clinic (now Lahey-Hitchcock Clinic). He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Jill Tanner, APRN, MSN

Jill Tanner, APRN, MSN, joined the MidState Medical Group Walk-In Center in July 2008 as a nurse practitioner. She has over five years of experience in urgent care. Prior to joining us, Jill worked primarily in the Emergency Department at Griffin Hospital, but also served as a staff nurse on the medical/surgical floors of both Griffin Hospital in Derby and St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport. A graduate of Mount Saint Mary College with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Jill went on to earn her Master’s degree in Nursing from Quinnipiac University in 2008. She has also taught nursing courses at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and has sat on various hospital committees, including the Infectious Disease Committee at Griffin Hospital and Diabetic Committee at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.

Christina Plantier, PA-C

Christina Plantier, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant who has eleven years of urgent care experience in addition to six years of internal medicine experience. She performs physical exams, initial evaluation and treatment of injuries and illnesses and vaccination administration. She spent eight years in the MidState Medical Center Emergency Department, and two years at Danbury, Waterbury and Hartford Hospital emergency rooms. Christina completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology at Geneva College and received a Certificate to be a Physician Assistant from Western University of Health Sciences in 1998. Christina is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She is also certified in CPR, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Zhenxiang Liu, MD

Zhenxiang Liu, MD, has been practicing dermatological/internal medicine for over 10 years. Dr. Liu earned his MD and PhD from Inner Mongolia Medical College and Beijing University Medical School in China. He completed his post-doctoral training as well as his Fellowships at Harvard University School of Medicine and Yale University School of Medicine. He is trained in internal medicine at Easton Hospital and St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Dr. Liu is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Diabetes Association, and American Society of Nephrology. He currently practices with the MidState Medical Group Walk-In Center in Wallingford.

Michelle LaChance, PA-C

Michelle LaChance, PA-C is a certified physician assistant with the MidState Medical Group Walk-In Center in Wallingford, where she has several years of experience providing hands-on clinical care to patients of all ages. Michelle received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Central Connecticut State University and her Master’s in Health Sciences from Quinnipiac University. In addition to her certification as a physician assistant, she is certified by the American Heart Association as an Advanced Care Life Support. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Connecticut Academy of Physician Assistants and Society of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants.

Marissa Van Hennik, PA-C

Marissa Van Hennik, PA-C is a certified physician assistant with the MidState Medical Group Walk-In Center in Wallingford, where she provides clinical care to patients of all ages. Marissa also serves as a physician assistant for MidState’s MediQuick urgent care facility. Jay has over 10 years of experience in the field, beginning his career as a paramedic and working in an emergency medicine setting. Jay is a certified physician assistant and completed a Master’s Level Physician Assistant program at Mountain State University in Beckley, West Virginia in 2006. Jay also has extensive experience in primary care and family practice, having spent several years caring for patients ranging from infants to geriatrics in a busy family practice.
